63 pc Americans believe US better off from having rich class

Washington, May 12 (ANI): Almost 63 percent Americans believe that the United States is better off from having a wealthy class, according to poll.

According to the Gallup poll, only 34 percent believed that the country did not benefit from having an upper class, Politico reported.

In 1990, 62 percent Americans thought that the U.S. was better off with a rich class of people, compared with 32 percent who disagreed, signaling that there had been little movement in people's perceptions over the last 20 years.

Almost 52 percent of Democrats, 59 percent of Independents and 80 percent of Republicans also believed that the US is better off having a rich class.

Meanwhile, 63 percent of Americans believe that they would personally want to be rich, compared with 35 percent who said they would prefer not to be if they had a choice. (ANI)
