22 language centres shut down in Pakistan

Islamabad, May 11 (IANS) At least 22 language teaching centres have been closed in Pakistan's Peshawar city after a ban on the admission of foreigners, a media report said Friday.

 

More than 100 languages centre exist in the city in the northwest tribal region. The centres taught Pashto, Urdu, Persian and English, the Online news agency reported.

 

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recently launched a crackdown against foreigners. A ban was imposed on the admission of foreigners and some foreign employees were also sacked, the report said.
