New Delhi, May 9 (IANS) Ashish Bagga, president of The Indian Newspaper Society (INS), Wednesday condemned the freezing of bank accounts of Sakshi group of publications in Andhra Pradesh.

He said the action by the Central Bureau of Investigation "could lead to abrupt and sudden stoppage of printing and publication of Sakshi newspaper and render over 10,000 employees jobless.

"The action has come at a time when Andhra Pradesh is in election mode, a period when free dissemination of news and views is necessary to embellish the democratic process," he said.

The Sakshi group is linked to YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy, who has broken away from the Congress.
