Pak terrorists pledge to launch jihad to mark bin Laden death anniversary
Islamabad, May 9 (ANI): Terrorists North Waziristan, Pakistan, have reportedly distributed pamphlets pledging to launch a jihad to mark the first anniversary of the killing of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, albeit a week late.
"Let us pledge today that we will continue our jihad and sacrifice our lives and property, like Sheikh Osama did," the pamphlet read, unsigned and dated May 2.
"Today, a year since Sheikh Osama bin Laden embraced martyrdom, the enemy America is repenting. It is facing defeat and Pakistan's future is also bleak," it added.
Terrorists handed out copies of the pamphlet from pick-up vehicles in Miranshah, the main town of the tribal district that has become a premier Al-Qaeda and Taliban hub, The Daily Times report.
According to the report, arm battles in North Waziristan are relatively rare because of an agreement between terrorists and the military not to attack each other.
Islamabad has resisted Washington's pressure to conduct a major offensive in the region, saying it is too overstretched fighting homegrown terrorists elsewhere in the tribal belt. (ANI)
