Washington, May 6 (ANI): Selena Gomez has vowed to limit her spending to 1.50 dollar a day for a week, to support a UNICEF campaign to aid starving children in Africa.

Selena, who has contributed extensively to the organization, also happens to be its ambassador since 2009.

The 19-year-old singer recently filmed an emotional appeal for help in the Sahel region, where severe drought has left many families suffering.

"In a continued effort to help support Sahel... I am living off of 1.50 a day (this week). 1.4 Billion people live on 1.50 dollars per day their whole lives, we only need to do it for one week. Can you do it? Join Unicef," Contactmusic quoted the Disney star as posting on her Facebook page. (ANI)
