Florida Libraries ban '50 shades of grey'

New York, May 6 (ANI): Despite having ruled the bestseller chart for weeks, librarians in Florida have found '50 shades of grey' inappropriate for public circulation.
Even though the book has sold more than 3 million copies in all formats, the Brevard County Public Library system in east central Florida has taken the decision to pull the available copies off the library shelves.
"It's quite simple, it doesn't meet our selection criteria. Nobody asked us to take it off the shelves, but we bought some copies before we realized what it was. We looked at it, because it's been called 'mommy porn' and 'soft porn'. We don't collect porn," Cathy Schweinsberg, the library services director in Brevard County was quoted as telling Palm Beach Post.
Talking further about the decision, Don Walker, a spokesman for the Brevard County government, said in an interview, "I have not read 'Fifty Shades of Grey,' but I've read reviews of 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' From what I understand, it's a lot about male dominance and female submissiveness."
However when asked about other erotic books like 'The Complete Kama Sutra' and 'Lolita' being available in the library, Cathy Schweinsberg called them 'Classics'
"I think because those other books were written years ago and became classics, because of the quality of the writing."
"This is not a classic," she said of EL James' book. (ANI)
