Eva Green feels like 'ugly duckling' in Hollywood

London, May 4 (ANI): Eva Green has revealed that she feels like "the ugly duckling" when she is surrounded by Hollywood actresses.

The 31-year-old actress has said that her refusal to succumb to plastic surgery has left her feeling her age.

The Dark Shadows star, who posed in a sultry photoshoot for InStyle magazine, says that being surrounded by Botoxed women in Hollywood make her aware of her age.

"It's not all about physique and how beautiful you look," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling the magazine.

"In this business actors who have Botox or surgery make you very aware of age. It's awful.

"In Los Angeles, I feel like the ugly duckling, like I'm from Venus or something," she said.

The Bond girl also disclosed that she finds it frustrating to be pigeon-holed by her looks, as she is always cast as a one-dimensional girlfriend to the male star in films.

She says she looks out for 'ballsy' roles, as playing the beautiful sidekick in films frustrates her.

"It's so boring to play the girlfriend,' she says. 'Most of the women in film are there to be beautiful to the man," she said.

"It's quite hard to find a ballsy or complex character. So the roles I've taken are those. Lot's of people put me in the dark category," she said.

Green also says that in addition to not going under the knife, she refuses to diet, as it depresses her.

The actress was once asked to lose weight for a role but found going on an all-soup eating plan made her miserable and she couldn't do it again.

"Before my first film, the casting director asked me to lose some weight, saying, "On screen you're going to look much fatter," she said.

"I started drinking soups and then I was like, "I can't do it, I can't go on a diet".

"It's hell, it makes you very depressed - food is so important to me. I couldn't go on," she added. (ANI)
