Youth beaten to death in West Delhi; 3 held

New Delhi, May 3 (IANS) A youth was beaten to death in West Delhi's Jahangirpuri area when he objected to some people passing certain remarks against him and his brother, police said Thursday. Three people have been arrested in this connection.

 

The incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when Kuldeep, in his early 30s, and his brother, Pradeep, were walking along a street near their house.

 

"The accused were passing comments against the two brothers. When Kuldeep objected, they started beating him. After injuring him badly they fled the spot. Kuldeep was rushed to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial hospital where he was declared dead," said Meenu Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police.

 

The three arrested accused have been identified as Rajesh Pratap, 29, Virender Bhardwaj, 27, and Paras,32 -- all residents of Jahangirpuri.

 

During interrogation, they confessed to the crime, police said.
