Pune, April 17 (IANS) A device that claims to help prevent leakage of combustible gas from domestic LPG cylinders has hit the markets.
Developed by Gas Safe India, the excess-flow and shut-off device uses a temperature-activated and pressure-aware mechanism to automatically stop the flow of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from its cylnder in the event of excess flow or a change in temperature.
Known as Gas Safe, the device can be fitted into any LPG cylinder and is the first-of-its-kind safety valve developed for Indian domestic LPG users, Gassafe said.
'Gas safety is a critical part of domestic safety and the product is aimed at instilling trust that Indian households are safe. Along with Underwriters Laboratories, we have been able to develop a world-class product tailored to Indian requirements,' Mohnish Aurora, director, Gas Safe India, a manufacturer of LPG cylinder safety devices, said Tuesday.
'Gas Safe is an example of a conscious company that is innovating to improve the quality of life, and as stewards of trust for India, we are proud to partner with them,' said R.A. Venkitachalam, vice-president and managing director, Underwriters Laboratories.
