Nine dead in China coal mine

Beijing, April 14 (IANS) Nine of 11 miners trapped underground in a coal mine in northern China are dead, the authorities said Saturday.
The miners were trapped in the flooded Shanfu coal mine in Shanxi province since Friday morning. The rescue operation for the missing miners was continuing, Xinhua reported.
