British teen plunges to death

London, April 11 (IANS) A British teenager plunged 170 feet to her death while trying to escape being caught by policemen as they arrived to recall her to prison.

The 18-year-old climbed out of a bedroom window in a tower block as a friend let officers in the front door, the Sun reported.

According to police, she slipped and fell from the 17th floor flat before she could be arrested. Screaming children found her bloodied body on a grass verge in Woolwich, south east London.

The girl had allegedly breached the terms of her licence after spending time in jail for mugging.
