Rooney joins greats in hailing Messi as 'best ever' footballer

London, Mar 8(ANI): Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has hailed Barcelona striker Lionel Messi as the best striker ever to grace the game of football following his five goal rampage against German side Bayern Leverkusen in the second leg of the pre-quarterfinals of Champions League at Nou Camp.
Barcelona won the match 7-1 and the entered the last eight of the Champions League with a 10-2 aggregate
"Messi is a joke. For me the best ever," The Mirror quoted Rooney, as tweeting.
Various other players and football pundits like Graeme Souness, Ruud Gullit, Rio Ferdinand, Jack Wilshere, Michael Owen and Terry Venables also agreed with Rooney's point of view. (ANI)
