Kate Beckinsale determined to guide daughter through teen years

Washington, March 2(ANI): Kate Beckinsale has admitted that she failed at being a teenager and doesn't want the same to happen to her daughter.

The actress found her adolescent years a nightmare, so she has done her best to help her daughter, Lily, go through those awkward years.

"I had a child young enough that it doesn't feel too far away from my own experience. I feel like I flunked at adolescence really badly. I found it really difficult," Contactmusic quoted her as telling Parade magazine.

"I'm very supportive of how tricky seventh and eighth grade are for girls. I think it's a very difficult time, but she's doing great," she added.

The 38-year-old 'Contraband' actress is now married to director Len Wiseman but she had Lily during an eight-year relationship with actor Michael Sheen. (ANI)
