Allahabad, Feb 9 (ANI): Congress President Sonia Gandhi has promised "incredible" governance if her party is voted to power in Uttar Pradesh.

"Congress Party is struggling to make Uttar Pradesh a better state. We are contesting elections here so that we can help it to scale new heights of development and progress. We are fighting elections to restore the prestige of Uttar Pradesh. The Congress Party fulfils the promises, which it makes. The Congress Party has already started working on the promises that it had mentioned in its manifesto," Gandhi added.
She further said that the party had launched several welfare schemes for the poor and minority groups.
"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, The UPA Government has started the MNREGA scheme to provide hundred days of employment to poor people in villages. In order to provide such basic amenities as electricity, roads and housing, we have started the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM)," she said.
