Joan Rivers was 'kidding' about 739 plastic surgeries

New York, Feb 8 (ANI): Comedian Joan Rivers, who recently caused a bit of a furore when she said she'd had over 700 cosmetic procedures, has insisted that she was just joking.

After the 78-year-old comedian and E! Fashion Police host joked on a talk show about her trips to the plastic surgeon, she assured the host that she was only pulling his leg.

"Every weekend I just go in and I do something new. I get a tenth one free. It's a little like coffee, you just keep going," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying.

Though later, she did admit that she'd hadn't been under the knife quite that many times.

"Of course not," she said.

In an interview to promote the second season of their reality television show "Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best," Rivers' 44-year-old daughter Melissa shared how she finally staged an intervention.

"At one point I start to think the risk outweighs the reward, so I wanted my mom to know how I felt about it and I made myself fairly clear," she added. (ANI)
