Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger won't return to X Factor

London, Feb 1 (ANI): Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger won't judge the next series of the US X Factor, the Fox network has confirmed.

The status of the other judges, Paula Abdul and music producer LA Reid, is still to be confirmed.

The viewing figures for 'X Factor' fell short of 20 million predicted by its creator, Simon Cowell.

He recently admitted he'd been "too arrogant" after a successful 2010 and promised to revamp the US version of the programme.

Jones announced the news of his absence from the show to his Twitter followers early on Tuesday morning but gave no explanation for the decision.

"I won't be hosting next season's X Factor which is a shame," the BBC quoted him as tweeting.

"But I can't complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show," he said.

The former T4 presenter and model was originally lined up to co-host the show alongside Scherzinger, who has yet to respond to news of the removal.

Former Pussycat Dolls' singer, Scherzinger, was moved to the judging panel to replace Cheryl Cole after producers decided the British singer wasn't right for the series. (ANI)
