Delhi Police sounds alert for Mehrauli bombers

New Delhi, Sept 27 (ANI): The Delhi Police on Saturday sounded an alert for two men who dropped the bomb in Mehrauli, causing the death of one child and leaving over 15 injured.

 

An extensive checking across the national capital has been launched.

 

The two men are believed to be around 30-32 years old and were riding a black motorcycle with Delhi registration number.

 

Joint Commissioner of Police (Southern Range) Ajay Kashyap said, "We have sounded an alert for them and extensive checking is being undertaken to nab them."

 

The two well-built suspects were wearing helmets, black jeans and black T-shirts.

 

The person riding pillion dropped the packet containing tiffin in which the explosive was hidden near an electronic shop in Mehrauli.

 

A child, who picked up the packet to return it to the motorcyle riders, got killed when it exploded.

 

There are three eyewitnesses and the police is questioning them.

 

Checking for vehicles has been intensified at the Delhi-Gurgaon border as Mehrauli is located on the border with Haryana.

 

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has announced Rs five lakh as compensation to the family of the boy killed in Mehrauli blast and Rs 50,000 each to the injured. (ANI)
