New York, Nov 26 (ANI): Reports are abuzz that Jay-Z has written a letter to a federal judge, offering job to a jailed cocaine trafficker for whom the rapper once worked.

Jay-Z offered his former associate Emory Jones a 50,000-dollar job at his Roc Apparel Group, reports The New York Post.

"I believe his attributes -- including intelligence, interpersonal skills and solid work ethic -- will be a significant asset for my organization . . . he is an honest and reliable individual; it would be a privilege to offer him an opportunity," Jay-Z wrote to Judge Benson Legg in a letter included in a sentence reduction plea for Jones.

Jones was sentenced to nearly 16 years behind bars in 2000 after pleading guilty to cocaine trafficking charge. But judge Legg shaved time off his sentence, and Jones was released in April.

Jay-Z had referenced his relationship with Jones in a 2006 song called 'Do U Wanna Ride' (ANI)
