Islamabad, July 31(ANI): Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has claimed that the previous federal government under Pervez Musharraf had improved ties with India.
"Our Government improved relations with the all our neighbours including India," The Nation quoted Kasuri, as saying.
Kasuri also claimed that during the regime both countries were close to clinching a solution to the vexed Kashmir issue, and all the hard work on the issue was almost completed between the two governments at that point of time.
"Kashmir issue remained a huge task, however, Pakistan had taken major steps to resolve the issue during the previous government's era," he added.
Kasuri was the Foreign Minister from 2002 to 2007.
Earlier, he had said that Pakistan and India have no other option, but to talk to resolve their outstanding issues.
"I have the belief that we should go beyond political differences on national issues. If the two countries do not realize the severity of the situation, and other countries exploit their fault lines, they will get destabilized which would be unfortunate," he had said. (ANI)
