About 100,000 Kyrgyz refugees may flee to Uzbekistan: UN envoy

New Delhi, June 15 (ANI): About 100,000 Kyrgyz refugees are heading towards neighouring Uzbekistan, a UN official said in that country's capital Bishkek.

 

The Xinhua quoted Miroslav Jenca as telling reporters in Bishkek that information from the Uzbek authorities showed the number of refugees who fled to the Uzbek side of the border currently stood at 75,000, but the number is still growing.

 

The death toll has risen to 170 from riots in southern Kyrgyzstan which began on June 10, with 1,762 people injured, the country's health ministry said on Tuesday. (ANI)
