Rahul Gandhi visits flood-hit Bihar
Purnia/Patna, Sept 10 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has visited the flood-ravaged Purnia District of Bihar.
The Amethi MP went around Purnia, one of the worst hit districts, to see firsthand the fury of floods and the consequent despair of the people who surrounded him all the way.
Meanwhile, self-styled yoga guru Baba Ramdev has demanded a long-term solution to tackle the recurring floods.

"Every year many people die due to floods. I demand that there should be a joint committee to look into the matter so that if State Government fails to address the problem the Centre can come into play or vice versa. Why should every year hundreds of people die in flood?" he told a news conference in Patna.
Back in Purnia, the devout Muslims, some taking shelter in relief camps, did not give their Ramadan fast a miss despite battling the devastating flood.
The community congregated for the meager meals when the sun went down.Floods have caused large-scale loss of life and property in six districts of the state since August, following an over 2,000-metre breach in the Kosi river embankment in neighbouring Nepal.
People in Bihar have witnessed the worst floods in living memory. The catastrophe has taken a toll of over 90 lives and more than three million people have been displaced. (ANI)
