London, Sept 6 (ANI): Britney Spears' mom Lynne has revealed that she was heartbroken after watching her daughter's meltdown - live on TV.
The 54-year-old said that her "heart tore into million pieces as she watched the 'Toxic' singer being taken to a psychiatric ward from her Hollywood home on a stretcher in January,
"When I saw her in the ambulance, her beautiful brown eyes pained and haunted, something inside me broke," The Sun quoted her, as saying.
"To see my child like this - at the lowest ebb of her life - almost killed me. I was overcome with a feeling of sadness and helplessness," she added.
Britney stopped speaking to her mother after she went into rehab last year - and even accused her of sleeping with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Lynne, who had shared a close relationship with Britney as she shot to fame, said she was heartbroken to find that her daughter had snubbed her.
"Britney would lash out at me, accusing me of siding with Kevin and letting him have the boys," the mum said.
Lynne added that when Britney left the rehab "her anger at me had not cooled".
After Britney was committed to a psychiatric ward for a second time in January, Lynne and husband Jamie became convinced it was "a life or death situation". (ANI)
