London, Mar 8 (ANI): Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole's brother has revealed that the singer was on the brink of putting her career on hold so she could start a family with love rat Ashley.
Andrew Tweedy, 29, said his 26-year-old sister had been so keen on becoming a mum and believed that Chelsea defender Cole was equally committed to a family.
"She saw him as the father to their kids. That's why she married him and that's why he has left her heartbroken," the Mirror quoted him as saying.
"Having kids with him, becoming a mother, that's all Cheryl has ever really wanted. She comes from a big family we are all still close and the maternal instinct is really strong in her.
"The public humiliation makes it 10 times worse, but for her not being able to start a family is the hardest part," he said.
He also revealed that Cheryl had told her family about the career break just before a string of women came forward to claim Cole had bedded them.
She planned to take time off once she returned from recording her first solo album in America.
"I have spoken with Cheryl and she always thought she was going to have a family with Ashley. But trust is a big thing for Cheryl and that is another reason why Ashley's affairs have hit her so hard," Tweedy said.
"To be honest I never ever thought he would get a second chance. But she took him back and gave him that second chance. I did not think she could take any more from him but she has.
"He has ruined so many things for her. The biggest is the chance to start a family," he added. (ANI)
