Gandhinagar, Sep 23 (ANI): Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal P.V.Naik on Wednesday downplayed the Chinese threat, saying there have not been air incursions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Addressing the media over the issue, Air Chief Marshal Naik said, "Our strategy is to play it cool. We are not downplaying anything. As far as the Air Force is concerned there has been no reason to downplay anything. There have not been any incursions reported at the LAC."

He also hinted that the Indian Air Force is upscaling its strength to make sure the situation along LAC remain undisturbed.

On Tuesday China flatly denied reports of any incursions along the LAC.

Talking to reporters after meeting with Home Secretary G K Pillai in New Delhi Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yan said: "Nothing is happening. You listen to your leaders."

Last week, Yan had met National Security Adviser M K Narayanan and Joint Secretary in-charge of China in Ministry of External Affairs Vijay Gokhale.

Earlier, reacting to Chinese incursions, the Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor said there had been no increase in Chinese incursions along the Sino-Indian border. (ANI)
