Jaswant Singh likely to visit Pak in Oct to launch his book

New Delhi, Sep.6 (ANI): Expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh is likely to visit Pakistan ext month to launch his controversial yet popular book 'Jinnah: India, Partition, Independence.'

 

"I may visit Pakistan early next month as the process of printing of my book in Pakistan will complete by the end of this month," Singh told media persons on the sidelines of a book fair here.

 

"I had postponed the visit, not cancelled it, as a partner of the publishing company Rupa and Co in Pakistan is busy publishing the book. The process will be completed by the end of September," Singh said.

 

Singh's book, which has created a furore in India, is selling like hot cakes in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

 

Not only intellectuals, but people from different strata of society have also shown an interest in the book, in which Singh has described Jinnah as a leader who had strong faith in a united India and blamed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the partition of India in 1947.

 

Excited by the response the book has received, its publishers are considering plans to bring out an Urdu version.

 

Singh was expected to visit Pakistan last month, but his son Manvendra Singh had said then that his father had not applied for a visa as far as he knew. (ANI)
