London, May 31 (ANI): A production of The Wizard of Oz failed so miserably in working its magic that a member of the audience is suing it.
Adrian Bradbury, 42, has launched an unprecedented legal action under the Trades Descriptions Act, claiming that the production was a "karaoke" rather than a musical, reports The Telegraph.radbury, who lodged the county court claim after watching the performance at Manchester's Lowry Theatre, has argued that famous songs such as The Yellow Brick Road and Over the Rainbow, were sung over a pre-recorded backing tape, rather than accompanied by a live orchestra.
He is now suing for the 134.50 pounds cost of the tickets, claiming it was "deceptive" of the theatre to advertise it as a musical.
"When the music starts it normally makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck," said Bradbury, who attended the show with his twin brother John, their wives and their seven children.
"But instead it was obvious that it was a synthesised backing tape," he said.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, he said: "It meant that there could be absolutely no interaction between the singer and the music.
"The worst moment was when the performers were tap-dancing - the sound of the taps on the tape and those on the stage were clearly out of time." (ANI)
