A child can also get the disease during birth if her mother is infected. But the number of kids getting birth with HIV has reduced substantially due to development in diagnostic facilities.

Here we would like to discuss mode of spread of AIDS. HIV infections spread through sexual intercourse with an infected person. The virus can enter through the sexual organs of male and female. The disease is very common among the drugs addicts as they often use a contaminated syringe to inject the drugs. A mother can also transmit the disease to her newborn during pregnancy or birth. In certain circumstances it may spread through transfusion with contaminated blood. People suffering from sexually transmitted disease like genital herpes, gonorrhea or syphilis are high at risk. Those involved with more than one sexual partner are also likely to get this deadly disease. There is no cure for the disease but one can fight this disease with available medication and healthy lifestyle.
