Film star Sunny Deol is his elder brother hence Bobby Deol certainly has a great lineage that is quite helpful in pursuing a career in bollywood. Hema Malini is her stepmother while Esha Deol and Ahana Deol are his half-sisters.

Born as Vijay Singh Deol on January 27,1969 in Mumbai to Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur, this actor made his debut as a hero in 1995 with movie Barsaat where he was starred opposite Twinkle Khanna. This film brought him Filmfare Award for Best Debut. His next movie Gupt was a commercial success. Having spent more than 15 years in bollywood the film journey for Bobby Deol is a roller coaster ride.

His debut movie Barasat was a moderate success. He got the much-needed success with Rajiv Rai directed Gupt: The Hidden Truth. In the same year Bobby Deol has acted in the movie Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, alongside Aishwarya Rai who was making debut in bollywood. A slew of hits and flops followed. Kareeb, a movie in which she acted with Neha could not do well on the box office. But his movie "Soldier" where he was starred against Preity Zinta was a commercial success. His recent release Yamla Pagla Deewana was a commercial success, where he was starred alongside his dad Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol.

Bobby Deol is married to actress Tanya Ahuja and is father of two sons.
